Colon Hydrotherapy: Coming Soon

Colon hydrotherapy is a cleansing of the large intestine using a gentle flow of warm purified water which softly massages the intestine and rehydrates the colon, stimulating the release of built-up waste.  We use the Angel of Water a state-of-the-art spa-like system that is a very comfortable, and hygienic method of experiencing a colonic. Depending on your state of health, some will require more than one treatment to attain optimal results.  Why colonics? They are an integral part of cleansing, supportive in weightloss and detoxification, constipation/IBS, food allergies, and a very important part of any candida clearing protocol.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine practice that refers to the technique which uses small cups as suction devices that are placed on the skin to disperse and break up stagnation and congestion of Qi (vital energy).  It is much like an inverse massage, rather than applying pressure to the muscles, it uses gentle pressure to pull them upward. Once suctioned to a desired strength, the cups are often left for a few minutes while the patient relaxes.  The cups can also be gently moved across the skin, referred to as gliding cupping which helps to massage the muscle fascia. This is a great tool for any kind of muscular pain or body pain caused by muscular tension. It can be useful in clearing lung congestion in the lungs from a common cold, and is helpful in asthma as well as skin and circulation.

Infrared Sauna

These types of saunas help your body release a number of toxins, including heavy metals such as mercury and lead.  The infrared technology allows you to eliminate approximately 7x more toxins than a typical dry sauna or steam room.  Sauna therapy promotes relaxation via cortisol balancing. It also supports muscle relaxation, muscle recovery, pain relief, and improves circulation.  The heat generated by an infrared sauna can support weight loss as a 30-minute session can burn roughly 600 calories. Infrared saunas also help to purify your skin by eliminating toxins from the pores, increasing circulation and leaving you with clearer, softer, and healthier, glowing skin.  At Valero Wellness we feature 2 unique Infrared Sauna rooms with built in showers to break up your sauna treatment with a cold immersion shower. This helps to rinse off toxins coming through the skin. The alternating hot and cold temperatures has been shown to reduce the pain of rheumatoid arthritis, improve circulation, reduce vasoconstriction and hypertension.  It also improves the body’s antioxidant capabilities, improves immune function and enhances the body’s resistance to respiratory infections. The cold water immersion further reduces recovery time from exercise and training and reduces the effect of exercise induced muscle damage.

Peat Baths

Valero Wellness is pleased to introduce Peat Baths to Windsor-Essex County.  Hydrotherapy is the use of water in any form or at any temperature for the purpose of healing.  Natural peat consists of decomposed vegetable matter and is high in nutrients and minerals. The medicinal peat we use is harvested from peat bogs where every one-inch layer of peat requires thousands of years to develop.  Peat baths are recognized worldwide for their exceptional restorative properties and healing benefits. They are full submersion baths at a therapeutic temperature range of 105 – 113 degrees Fahrenheit, for 7-20 minutes. The peat gently removes dead skin cells, and enhances circulation leaving the skin feeling soft and glowing.  The patient proceeds to a wool blanket and sheet wrap for 30 minutes to stimulate the perspiration process. This is an exhilarating and rejuvenating treatment that is useful for the treatment of back pain, PMS, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, strains and sprains, sports injuries, metabolic disorders, obesity, eczema, colds and flu, and general detoxification.
